Today, I am rounding up my 10 most loved skincare products this season. While this list runs long and I use majority of the products all year around, I decided these deserve top 10.

If you know me then you also know I am a huge advocate for skincare. Aside from looking stylishly yourself, I always tell my clients to get serious about skincare because this has seriously changed my life! I was one of those few fortunate folks that never had acne during my adolescent days. However whatever I dodged then somehow seemed to creep into my mid-late 20’s! *insert side eye roll*

This is when I decided to get really serious about my skincare game. I never grew up wearing make-up because I’ve always had excellent skin. (thank you for your genes mama) I only started wearing make-up well into my 20’s and realized I needed to up my skincare game!

With that said, let’s take a look at my 10 most loved skincare products. To make things easier for everyone I am listing them below in the order of application:

Face Wash

10 most loved beauty products of this season 3

Tula Purifying Face Cleanser

This cleanser has definitely been my favourite! It is so light and refreshing. Tula skincare products are made using probiotics and other superfoods that make this health conscious gal extremely happy! This probiotic gel cleanser goes deep into pores to remove impurities and helps condition skin, without stripping or over-drying. A lot of face washes make your face feel dryer after using it but this one feels great on the skin and has therefore made it to my top 10 most loved skincare products!

In my opinion, this is great for all skin types and is especially great for acne prone skin because it is lightweight!

Toner

10 most loved skincare products this season 4

Thayers Alcohol-free Facial Toner Witch Hazel & Lavender

A facial toner helps to remove excess dirt, traces of oil and makeup, correct and balance the pH of your skin, and helps control acne. In other words, a facial toner thoroughly cleans the skin and helps remove built up surface dead skin cells. For someone who is looking for every possible way to keep adult acne away and ensure my face is clean, this definitely became a must-have and most loved skincare product.

I like to look for effective and cost efficient products and this one popped up and I have been a fan ever since. What I love most about this product is that it is gentle on the skin and it contains calming Lavender Water and certified organic Aloe Vera and the Witch Hazel formula which has antioxidant and antibacterial benefits, and brings about a natural glow.

If you have sensitive skin, choose alcohol free toners to ensure your skin is calm and taken care of. Honestly I try to choose alcohol-free products in general so this was an easy choice and it doesn’t break the bank!

Vitamin C Serum

Derma-E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum

This has seriously changed my skin in a drastic way! VITAMIN C has remarkable antioxidant, skin-brightening and anti-aging properties while also helping to support collagen health, improving the appearance of sun damaged skin. It is also a chemical exfoliant, which over time sloughs off discoloured skin.

My current favourite one I use is Derma E Vitamin C Serum because it is so smooth on my skin and my skin seems to drink it up especially with being so easily dried out in California’s scorching dry heat.

This product also contains HYALURONIC ACID, ideal for rehydrating dry, thirsty, aging skin. It is full of antioxidants that help defend against free radical damage, helping to reduce and prevent signs of aging. Skin appears softer, smoother and more youthful.

Consistent and daily application of this incredible duo of a good sunscreen (see below) and Vitamin C serum over time is the best way to help reduce any sun/UV damage, dark spots and even remove any spots/pigmentations/ or any skin blemishes. (I can vouch for this from personal experience) Yup it is really that good!

SPF sunscreen

10 most loved skincare products this season

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40

Applying sunscreen, especially on your face is one of THE most important parts of your skincare and it has been a game changer for me personally. Apply sunscreen before you put on any ounce of make-up and spray on more throughout the day. Protecting your face/skin from the sun is crucial to preventing sun damage, sun spots and even premature aging and wrinkles. Sun care is self care.

My current go to sunscreen for my face is this gem by Supergoop simply because of it’s easy application. The consistency is so smooth and goes on easily on your face without leaving any oily or ashy white residue. So it’s a no brainer that this made it to my 10 most loved skincare products this season. Sunscreen must be worn EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. without fail regardless of whether you’re in the middle of summer or in the thick of winter!

Face Cream

10 most loved skincare products this season

Tula Hydrating Day & Night Cream

I think this is self explanatory and a no brainer! A good face cream can do wonders for your skin care game.

My current favourite is this beauty by Tula, a brand I am absolutely in love with because they use natural and clean ingredients in all their skincare products and it is one of the best skincare products I’ve seen in a while! This face cream actually has probiotics, watermelon fruit extracts, retinol (Vit A) and many more beneficial  and clean ingredients. It is so smooth and gives my skin a youthful glow and keeps my skin deeply hydrated! Undoubtedly all Tula products have made it to my 10 most loved skincare products!

Eye Cream

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye cream

Eye creams are a newer addition to my skincare routine. After some research and reading I realized as I’m getting closer to my 30’s eye creams are a must because the first signs of aging appear around your eyes! The skin around your eyes are also super delicate and therefore require extra attention.

This brightening, vitamin C-rich eye crème targets signs of aging, reducing the look of dark circles while improving concealer application and wear. It is feather light and nutrient packed. As with all eye creams, a tiny bit goes a long way! I love the brightening effect it instantly gives and it’s great underneath make-up.

Primer

Two Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

Essentially, a primer creates an extra layer between your skin and make-up.

Primer is to your skin as lip balm is to your lips. It makes it easier to apply make-up and I can even get away with wearing less foundation because primer makes your make-up last longer! It is such an important part of your skin care routine.

I use this right before I apply any make-up. I am currently obsessed with this baby by Two Faced. It hydrates, smoothes and brightens skin for a dewy, healthy looking finish.

Lip Balm

Fresh Sugar Coconut Hydrating Lip Balm

Say goodbye to chapped lips forever!

Lately, I’ve fallen in love with matte lip paints and as amazing as they are, they can dry out my lips so easily. As a result I’ve been on the hunt for some nourishing lip balm.

I honestly struck gold with this wonder from Fresh. A cushiony, coconut-flavored lip balm that delivers nonstop 24-hour moisture and a smooth natural shine. It instantly hydrates and locks in moisture with a blend of sugar and emollient oils for a supple, plump pout. The rich texture coats dry lips, softening and protecting against dehydration all day long. (but with no sticky residue!) Need I say more? You see why this made the list of my 10 most loved skincare products.

Make-up removers

Make-up remover 1

Organic coconut oil

This doesn’t need an introduction. Any raw unfiltered coconut oil will do and it is the best make-up remover I have found so far.

I use whatever I find during my grocery runs.

Coconut oil has both anti-bacterial and anti-yeast so it works well as a makeup remover. Just make sure you use organic and raw coconut oil so it doesn’t clog your pores! Simply liquify the coconut oil in your hands when it’s in its natural solid state, and gently rub onto dry skin, paying special attention to heavy eye makeup. Once your makeup has been sufficiently melted away, rinse face with warm water and pat dry.

Make remover 2

Neutrogena Hydrating make-up remover cleansing wipes

In all honesty, some nights when I can’t be bothered to use coconut oil or am traveling, these work great! I stopped using make-up wipes because they generally dry out your skin but then I discovered this gem by Neutrogena.

These wipes cleanses and effectively dissolves the most stubborn makeup even waterproof mascara, while moisturizing the skin. It is ultra-soft dermatologist-tested and it cleans, conditions and soothes skin in 1 simple step, leaving face feeling soft and hydrated. These pre-moistened makeup remover wipes contain cucumber and aloe extracts, gentle enough for sensitive eye area and contact lens wearers.

Face Mask

Indian Healing Clay

There is a reason why this is often known as the world’s most powerful facial. For less than $10 this is my holy grail and a product I swear by, a miracle worker for sure.

This 100% natural calcium bentonite clay is great for deep pore cleansing, acne and skin blemishes. Indian healing clay clays have been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial mask. Aztec secret Indian healing clay is basically bentonite clay from Death Valley, California, where it is sun- dried for up to six months in high temperatures.

It is amazing how this product literally makes my skin so soft after even the first use. I’ve been using this regularly for almost a year and I have been loving it. It has also rapidly decreased scars and leaves my skin looking glowing and smooth. There you have it, ending my 10 most loved skincare products with this classic.
